Our students live in the same world, the same states, the same communities we do. As a result, we have an obligation to expose and educate them on the nuances of our society and make sure they are equipped to be the best versions of themselves away from the classroom!


Things are officially under way for me at the Ron Clark Academy! This is going to be an amazing school year!

3 years ago Dwayne Stallings (Perquimans County former Superintendent) asked me to give a keynote at my old high school. Why? I don't know. I didn't know what to talk about. Plus, I was a 2nd year teacher privately battling depression and going through a divorce. But now, I can see why those things had to happen to me.


This is a song that was created to help my students learn about answering important questions to a test. I promised them if they passed the 2.RL.1 assessment, we could make a music video. Please share!


Mr. Bonner is an inspiring second grade teacher at North Carolina's South Greenville Elementary, where a majority of students have difficult home lives and many are homeless. When Ellen heard about how Mr. Bonner's unique, rap-filled teaching methods encourage students to go above and beyond, she couldn't wait to meet him - and give his school a spectacular surprise!
